Question:

Describe nuclear fission

Author: Marilyn Bob-Manuel 3ekt

Answer:

The process by which energy is released when a large atom is hit by a neutron, becomes unstable and splits into two or more smaller pieces plus two or three neutrons when this happens some of the mass of the atom is lost and is converted directly to heat energy. This heat energy can be used to generate electricity in a nuclear power station
