Explanation or acknowledgement of the week of downtime?

Can you please address the recent downtime that lasted almost an entire week? I had wasted sooooo much time and effort making flashcards and then when it went down, it was like losing everyhing. I spent countless hours redoing them in other flashcard programs/apps, and today, 6 days later, it finally pops back online. How about an explanation or cause or a simple acknowledgement? Will it happen again soon? Is this site on it's way out the door? I was so happy when I discovered this site only to be heartbroken after it being offline for a week proving itself as totally unreliable. How likely is it that this is going to happen again soon?
